But, in the same way that the LLVM is spawning entirely new versions of existing, functional tools (clang for gcc/g++, libc++ for gnu libstdc++, lldb for gdb, etc), the goal with Crack is simply to "do it better" (mainly with regards to performance) while still "using the existing wiring" - meaning any programmer of a c type language can take advantage of the performance benefits of Crack immediately.<br /><br />It's very hard to get a new language off the ground, and Crack's wide adoption is far from certain.
